On the afternoon of February 24, 2023, numerous state and municipal institution websites in Latvia, including "Latvija.lv" and the Cabinet of Ministers' site "mk.gov.lv", experienced significant disruptions. These issues were reported to have affected the accessibility and speed of various government websites, raising concerns over the reliability of online services provided to the public.

Representatives from the State Radio and Television Center of Latvia (LVRTC) confirmed that the disruptions were linked to problems within their data transmission network. As the primary operator of radio and television broadcasting networks in the country, LVRTC's performance is critical, not only for media services but also for the operational integrity of government online platforms that citizens rely on for information and services.

Currently, LVRTC specialists have identified the technical issues and are actively working to resolve them. The situation underscores the importance of robust IT infrastructure for public institutions, as interruptions in service can lead to public frustration and hinder access to essential information, particularly during crucial times where citizens depend heavily on digital communications.
