Annex of the National University of Arts in Pompeya

A proposed building within a master plan by students serves as an annex for the National University of Arts, located in Nueva Pompeya, Argentina.

The proposed building functions as an annex to the National University of Arts and is paired with its dance department. It is situated in the Nueva Pompeya neighborhood, near the Sáenz Station and the intersection of La Plata, Sáenz, and Almafuerte avenues. Covering an area of 8000 square meters on a 6000 square meter site, the building consists of two compact blocks surrounding a central void, allowing for an efficient distribution of classrooms and social areas focused on everyday access.

The architectural design aims to enhance the relationship between the building and the surrounding urban fabric. By delineating the perimeter with constructed elements, the central corridor offers a visual and functional connection with the adjacent viaduct and urban environment. This layout is intended to support the university's practical and theoretical program, concentrating the classroom spaces in the most active areas of the site to facilitate routine uses and access.

As a result, the second volume of the building gains a social character, housing communal spaces that foster interaction among students and visitors. The initiative reflects the importance of integrating educational facilities within the urban landscape while responding to the needs of the local community, which highlights the commitment to cultural development in the area.
