Man stung by over 100 bees and rescued urgently in SC, firefighters say
A man in Caçador, Santa Catarina, Brazil, was stung over 100 times by bees and required urgent medical attention.
In Caçador, located in the West of Santa Catarina, a man was severely stung by bees on Sunday morning and required immediate rescue services. The firefighters reported that the individual suffered more than 100 bee stings, prompting a significant emergency response. The incident took place near the Honorino Moro Highway, where the victim was found about 500 meters away from the highway in an area that was challenging for rescue teams to access.
The rescue operation involved sending an ambulance and a support vehicle specialized in such emergencies. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called to the scene due to the severity of the situation. They provided initial medical care at the site and managed to stabilize the victim before transport. The patient was subsequently taken to the Maicé Hospital where he received emergency treatment, stayed under observation, and was later discharged.
This incident highlights the dangers that can arise from bee attacks, especially in rural or less accessible areas. The coordinated efforts of the local firefighters and emergency services, alongside the assistance from the Municipal Guard, underscore the importance of quick response to wildlife-related emergencies, which can pose significant risks to public safety.
