The developer promised an apartment for a gold medal at the Olympics. Changes rules for Kacper Tomasiak

A Polish developer has pledged an apartment to any Olympic gold medalist but has made an exception for bronze and silver medalist Kacper Tomasiak.

PROFBUD, a developer sponsoring the Polish Olympic team since the Summer Olympics in Paris, announced that it would reward any athlete returning home with a gold medal from the Olympics with an apartment. This initiative marks a significant value in material rewards in the history of Polish Olympism. However, during the XXV Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, no Polish athlete reached the top of the podium. In a surprising move, PROFBUD decided to make an exception for Kacper Tomasiak, a ski jumper who won three medals: two silvers and one bronze.

The developer revealed that Tomasiak would receive a two-room apartment in the second building of the "Paris" district, which is part of the "City of Polish Olympic Champions" development. This area is located in the village of Mysiadło, close to the Warsaw district of Ursynów. This decision highlights not only the company’s support for Olympic athletes but also its desire to reward exceptional achievements, regardless of traditional gold medal criteria.

This exception raises questions about the nature of recognition in sports and the value placed on different medal achievements. With Tomasiak's recognition, there may be a shift in how rewards are allocated amongst athletes, potentially inspiring a broader interpretation of success in competitive sports and fostering a more inclusive approach to honoring athletes' performances at the Olympics.
