A 19-year-old college student from Tamil Nadu has reported a gang rape incident that occurred in a private villa in North Bengaluru after being lured under the pretense of a party by an Instagram friend.
A chilling case of gang rape has emerged from North Bengaluru, where a 19-year-old girl, originally from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, alleged that she was raped after being invited to a party by an Instagram acquaintance. The victim, who is a first-year BA student studying Psychology and Journalism in Bengaluru, claimed that she had befriended Dixon Sandow through Instagram a month prior to the incident. Following their online interactions, they met a few times in person, and he professed his feelings for her, which she reciprocated. Subsequently, on February 14, post college hours, she was called to a private villa for a party, which tragically turned into a nightmare.
Upon arriving at the villa located in the Jakkur area of Bengaluru, the victim reported being drugged with a pink tablet and later waking up without any clothes on her body. This alarming allegation has led to a complaint being filed with the Amrutahalli police, detailing the events and the circumstances surrounding the assault. The police have initiated an investigation to track down the accused parties involved in this heinous act, emphasizing their commitment to supporting the victim and ensuring justice is served.
The incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety of young women, especially students, in urban areas and highlights the risks associated with online acquaintances. The case also brings forth the pressing need for increased awareness and protective measures for individuals who interact with strangers via social media. As the investigation unfolds, it serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities young people face in today's digital world and the importance of fostering a safer environment for all.
