Gang rape after drugging at villa party, girl accuses Instagram friend
A college student in Bengaluru has accused two men of gang rape after being drugged at a villa party, following an acquaintance made through Instagram.
A serious allegation of gang rape has emerged from Bengaluru, where a 19-year-old college student has reported being drugged and assaulted at a private villa. According to police, the victim claims that two men forced her to consume narcotics before carrying out the attack. Originating from Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu, the victim has been residing in Bengaluru for the past five months as she studies for her Bachelor’s degree.
The victim first connected with one of the alleged attackers, Dixon Sando, on Instagram in January. They reportedly engaged in regular communication, leading up to several meetings in the city prior to the incident. On the night of February 14, after a dinner with a friend, she received an invitation from Dixon to attend a party at a private residence known as 'Rex Villa' in North Bengaluru. After confirming the invitation, she and her friend arrived there in the early hours of February 15.
At the party, Dixon introduced the victim to another man named Nikhil, who is alleged to have been involved in the attack. The case highlights serious concerns regarding the safety of women in social situations, particularly in urban settings like Bengaluru, and underscores the importance of vigilance in social encounters, especially those initiated through social media platforms. This incident has sparked conversations about consent and the dangers of substance use at parties, prompting calls for greater awareness and legal protections for vulnerable individuals.
