Mexico, a Power in Franchises
Mexico ranks as the fifth largest global market for franchises and leads in the Hispanic sector, with the International Franchise Fair set to take place from March 5 to 7 in Mexico City.
Mexico has established itself as the fifth largest franchise market in the world and the leading market within the Hispanic community. This achievement is highlighted by the upcoming International Franchise Fair (FIF), which will be held from March 5 to 7 at the World Trade Center in Mexico City. Organized by Global Expo and supported by the Mexican Franchise Association, the event is expected to attract over 300 exhibitors, 30 supply brands, and approximately 14,000 high-profile visitors, with projections of a 15% growth by 2025. The franchise sector in Mexico is thriving, recording a 6% annual growth rate and an impressive success rate of 85% after five years, outperforming independent businesses.
Director Lidia Quezada notes that franchises are increasingly adopting flexible and accessible business models, including microfranchises and shared investment schemes, with initial investments starting as low as 150,000 pesos. This trend has contributed to a more inclusive market, providing opportunities for more entrepreneurs to enter the franchise space. The FIF serves as a preliminary event to key meetings in other major cities like New York, showcasing Mexico's vital role in the global franchise landscape and highlighting the country's economic potential in this booming sector.
