Search efforts continued into Monday morning, with the Corpo de Bombeiros (Fire Department) deploying divers and a jet ski to scour the waters. The extensive search finally paid off as the body was discovered approximately 50 meters from the shore around 8 a.m. This unfortunate event highlights the potential dangers of swimming in open waters, even for individuals who are competent swimmers.
Following the recovery, the young man's body was slated to be sent to the Instituto de Polícia Científica (IPC) for the necessary legal procedures.
