A body was discovered floating in the Capibaribe River in Recife on Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses reported that the corpse appeared to be that of a man whose identity has not yet been determined. The incident was reported around 3:30 PM, and the body was first spotted near the Ilha do Retiro in the western zone before being swept away by the current and seen later near the Graças area in the northern zone of the city.
Images captured by TV Globo reveal a crowd gathered on the Torre Bridge, observing the river, while a team of military police was also present at the scene to monitor the situation. There was significant public interest, as indicated by the group gathered to witness the unfolding events. Meanwhile, a video shows the Corpo de Bombeiros (Fire Department) deploying a boat for a search operation, with reports of two teams engaged in the recovery efforts.
