Bobsleigh pilot Kalenda’s quartet aims to stay in the top ten in the final run

Latvian bobsleigh pilot Kalenda is looking to maintain a top ten position as they approach the final run.

After the first day of competition, Latvian bobsleigh pilot Kalenda was 1.26 seconds behind current leader Johannes Lochner, but only 0.17 seconds behind the team of Austrian Markus Treichl, who was in 10th place. Lochner, already holding a gold medal from the two-man event, had built a lead of 0.43 seconds over his fiercest rival, Francesco Friedrich, which he extended to 0.48 seconds after the third run. An interview with Latvia's head coach Cipulis revealed that despite the fatigue faced by the bobsleigh team on the final day of the Olympic Games, he expressed confidence that they would have enough energy for the crucial events ahead.
