APC wins Ungogo, Kano Municipal assembly by-elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the bye-elections for the Ungogo and Kano Municipal State Assembly in Nigeria.
In a significant electoral outcome, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the recent bye-elections held for the Ungogo and Kano Municipal State Assembly on Saturday. The APC candidate for Kano Municipal Constituency, Aliyu Nabil Daneji, received a total of 7,484 votes, thereby securing his election to represent the constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly. According to the Returning Officer, Professor Ibrahim Tajo Siraj, Daneji met all electoral requirements and was officially declared the winner on Sunday.
Moreover, in Ungogo Constituency, another APC candidate, Aminu Sa’ad Sa’ad, achieved a commanding victory with 8,975 votes, far surpassing his closest opponent, Shua’ibu Hashimu of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), who garnered only 54 votes. Professor Ali Tijjani Abdullahi, the Returning Officer for Ungogo, confirmed Sa’ad's election, affirming that he also fulfilled all necessary legal criteria to be declared the winner.
These victories for the APC reflect the party's continuing influence in the region, potentially solidifying their power within the Kano State Assembly.
