Tae Jin-ah to Take Legal Action Against Jeon Han-gil… Jeon Unilaterally Promotes Concert Attendance and Ticket Sales
Singer Tae Jin-ah is planning to take legal action against right-wing YouTuber Jeon Han-gil for promoting his attendance at a concert without permission.
Tae Jin-ah, a renowned singer in South Korea, has announced plans to legally challenge Jeon Han-gil, a far-right YouTuber, following Jeon’s claims that Tae would be attending and performing at a concert promoting the March 1st Independence Movement. Jeon Han-gil publicly shared details about the concert on his YouTube channel, including a poster that displayed Tae's image, which led to the sale of tickets ranging from 50,000 to 70,000 won. Tae's side firmly denied the claims, stating that there had been no agreement for his participation in the event.
The situation escalated when Tae's management, Jinah Entertainment, released a statement accusing Jeon of deception, asserting that a representative from the event had contacted them under false pretenses to inquire about Tae’s schedule. They clarified that although Tae had mentioned availability, it was misunderstood as a confirmation to participate in a political event when it was, in reality, described as a general event. As a result, Tae's management vowed to take severe legal action against the individuals involved for defamation and unauthorized use of Tae’s image.
Despite the backlash, Jeon Han-gil appeared unfazed, responding dismissively to the situation on his social media platform, suggesting that Tae was free to file a lawsuit if he wished. Jeon argued that he had merely relayed information provided by the event organizers while expressing surprise at the sudden accusations against him. This incident highlights the growing tensions between public figures and social media personalities, particularly concerning the blurred lines regarding consent and public image in promotional contexts.
