Two suspected robbers nabbed in Oyo

The Oyo State Police have arrested two suspected robbers in Ibadan, recovering toy pistols and drugs during their operation.

The Oyo State Police Command has successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of engaging in robbery activities targeting unsuspecting members of the public. These arrests occurred along the Elebu-Oja area, off Alao-Akala Expressway in Ibadan. The operation was conducted by the command's Anti-Counterfeiting and Fraud Unit, which was on a targeted surveillance patrol aimed at curbing criminal activities in the locality.

The suspects, identified as Elijah Teejay, aged 21, and Ottu Emmanuel, aged 33, were found with toy pistols and illicit drugs during a search. These items were promptly secured as exhibits for investigation purposes. According to Police Public Relations Officer Ayanlade Olayinka, the quick response from police operatives played a crucial role in preventing further escalation of criminal activities within the community, thus contributing to public safety.
