The annual 'Kilograms of Culture' awards, a significant cultural event in Latvia, recognized and celebrated various artistic achievements of the past year. In the 'Start' category, the award went to playwright and director Gusts Ābele for his play 'Silence and Noise' performed at the National Theatre of Latvia. Additionally, the 'Music' category honored the state academic choir 'Latvia', conducted by Māris Sirmais, for their concert 'I Know How a Rose Blooms', a tribute to composer Emīls Dārziņš on his 150th anniversary.
In the categories of pop culture and cinema, the awards celebrated the concert by the band 'Sudden Lights' at the 'Xiaomi Arena' and Dzintars Dreiberga's feature film 'In the Net. The Birth of the TTT Legend', produced by 'Kultfilma', respectively. The literary category recognized Virdžīnija Lejiņa's novel 'Sometimes. Always. Never', published by 'Dienas Grāmata'. Furthermore, the 'Heritage' category awarded the publication 'Juris Podnieks. Diaries 1975-1981' and the exhibition 'Podnieka Time Space', highlighting the importance of cultural heritage in contemporary Latvia.
