A Woman's Disguise, Weapons in Hand... Police Arrest 5 Members of the 'Kohinoor Gang'

Kota police have arrested five criminals planning a robbery, seizing weapons and women's clothing intended for their disguise.

Kota police intercepted a robbery plot and arrested five gang members who were preparing to commit a crime. During the arrests, authorities recovered an illegal country-made pistol, a live cartridge, two knives, chili powder, and rope, indicating the level of violence and planning involved. Notably, police found women's clothing that was intended to be used in the crime, suggesting that one gang member would disguise himself as a woman to lure victims while his accomplices would then threaten the targeted drivers.

The gang operated under the name 'Kohinoor Gang 0007' and employed a clever strategy to target vehicles on the highway. One member dressed as a woman would stand in desolate areas and, upon attracting the attention of drivers, signal for help or provoke curiosity, leading them to stop. At this moment, other gang members would arrive to intimidate and rob them, underscoring the organized nature of their operations and their reliance on deception to execute their plans.

Kota’s Superintendent of Police, Tejaswini Gautam, noted that the arrests occurred during a routine patrol on the Kota-Chittaur National Highway. The police’s swift action not only disrupted a major theft operation but also highlights their commitment to ensuring public safety on highways, especially during nighttime, which is often a vulnerable time for drivers.
