Teenager apprehended with over 5 kg of marijuana in Resende

A 14-year-old boy was apprehended in Resende, Brazil, on suspicion of drug trafficking after being found with over 5 kg of marijuana and other drugs.

On Friday, a 14-year-old boy was apprehended in the Brazilian city of Resende for suspected involvement in drug trafficking. The incident occurred in the neighborhood of Baixada da Olaria when the teenager attempted to flee upon noticing the presence of police officers. He was quickly caught by the authorities.

During the apprehension, police discovered a significant stash of illegal drugs in the boy's backpack, including 5.1 kilograms of marijuana separated into four blocks and 731 small bags. Additionally, the police found 654 pouches of cocaine, 42 crack stones, a cell phone, and cash totaling R$ 262. This discovery highlights the serious issue of youth involvement in drug-related crimes in Brazil.

The case has been registered at the Resende police station, where the seized materials are being held as evidence, and the teenager has been charged with a crime analogous to drug trafficking. The minor remains under the jurisdiction of the juvenile justice system, which underscores ongoing concerns regarding drug trafficking networks actively involving young individuals in Brazil's urban centers.
