UP: Two motorcycles collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with wood, resulting in the death of 3 people
A tragic accident in Lakhimpur Kheri, India, led to the deaths of three individuals when their motorcycles collided with a tractor-trolley carrying wood.
A tragic incident occurred around 1 AM last night in the Nighasan police area of Lakhimpur Kheri district, where six people on two motorcycles crashed into a tractor-trolley loaded with wood that was poorly illuminated on the road. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of three individuals riding on one of the motorcycles, while the other three sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the district hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported that the accident was likely caused by the darkness which obscured the visibility of the tractor-trolley on the road. The six individuals, all residents of the Singer township, were headed towards Nighasan when the unfortunate incident occurred. The lack of proper lighting on the road was a contributing factor to the collision, highlighting ongoing safety concerns on rural roads in the region.
Local police arrived at the scene upon receiving news of the accident and have since transported the deceased to the district headquarters for post-mortem examinations. This incident raises serious questions about road safety, particularly the need for better lighting and awareness about the risks associated with unlit farm vehicles on busy routes.
