Yobe adjusts working hours for Ramadan

The Yobe State Government has revised official working hours for civil servants in observance of Ramadan, allowing for earlier closing times.

The Yobe State Government, led by Executive Governor Mai Mala Buni, has officially announced an adjustment to the working hours for civil servants throughout the month of Ramadan. This decision, communicated through a circular by the Head of Service Abdullahi Shehu, is aimed at accommodating the needs of workers observing the fast. The new schedule will take effect immediately and remains in place for the duration of Ramadan.

Under the revised arrangements, civil servants will now work from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM from Monday through Thursday, and Fridays will see an even shorter workday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon. This initiative is designed to help Muslim employees better manage their work responsibilities while observing the fasting period, allowing them to break their fast at the appropriate times without the strain of a full workday.

This adjustment not only reflects the government's consideration for the cultural and religious practices of its constituents but also emphasizes the importance of supporting public servants in their observance of Ramadan. After the fasting period, official working hours will revert to their normal schedule, ensuring a return to standard operations for civil services in Yobe State.
