In observance of Ramadan, the Kebbi State Government in Nigeria has approved a reduction in official working hours for civil servants. This decision reflects the commencement of Ramadan as declared by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. The new working hours will allow civil servants to finish their work earlier in the day to accommodate their fasting schedules.

The Permanent Secretary, Hafsat Tune, stated that Governor Nasir Idris has sanctioned a two-hour reduction in the daily work schedule. The revised hours will see civil servants working from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekdays, with Friday's schedule adjusted to end at noon. This change aims to align with the traditional practices of Ramadan, where fasting from dawn to dusk is observed, making it more convenient for employees to break their fasts at the end of the workday.
