Henry Sildaru achieved a remarkable feat by winning a silver medal in slopestyle skiing during the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. He started his first run strong but fell on the fourth jump, earning him only 24.25 points. However, his second run was impressive as he executed all jumps cleanly, receiving 92.75 points, placing him temporarily in the lead before the final run. In his third run, Sildaru managed to improve his score by 0.25 points, finishing with a total of 93.00 points, which was enough to secure the silver medal.
Despite his strong performance, Sildaru fell short of gold, as American skier Alex Ferreira scored 93.75 points in his final run to take the top spot. Finishing third was Canadaβs Brendan Mackay, who secured 91.00 points in the final round. This achievement marks Sildaru as the sixth Estonian athlete to win a medal at the Winter Olympics, highlighting the success of Estonian freestyle skiing. It also follows a family legacy in the sport, as Sildaru's sister Kelly won a bronze medal in park skiing during the previous Winter Olympics in Beijing four years ago.
