Investigation says that the withdrawal and abandonment of dogs that disappeared from the Mercado Livre yard was premeditated
An investigation reveals that the removal and abandonment of dogs from the Mercado Livre facility was a planned operation involving hired individuals and a rented vehicle.
According to the investigation, there was a premeditated plan to remove dogs from the Mercado Livre facility, with the use of a rented vehicle to transport them to a rural area in Campo Largo, where they were abandoned. The delegate overseeing the case confirmed that they have established the exact date the animals were removed and the vehicle used for their transportation. Witnesses have been interviewed, affirming that there was a planned operation involved in the removal of the dogs.
The operation reportedly took place at night and involved people hired by associates of the company. The management of Mercado Livre stated that the employees involved in this incident have been dismissed, while police are continuing their investigation to identify who orchestrated the abandonment. Of the missing dogs, only two have been located so far, raising concerns about the welfare of the other animals.
As of February 20, G1 reached out to Mercado Livre for further comments regarding the ongoing investigation but did not receive a response. This situation has raised significant concerns regarding animal welfare practices within large companies and the responsibilities they hold in the treatment of animals connected to their operations, highlighting a need for stricter oversight in such cases.
