In Salvador, Brazil, a violent incident unfolded as two men, aged 49 and 33, were brutally assaulted by motorcycle taxi drivers in the Cabula VI neighborhood. The altercation, which occurred on Wednesday, March 18, was captured on security cameras, revealing the severity of the attack as the victims were beaten numerous times, even while lying helplessly on the ground. According to family statements, the conflict erupted after the men returned from a carnival celebration, seeking to charge their phones to process a payment via PIX, a popular mobile payment system in Brazil. Reports indicated that one of the assailants also stole a cellphone from one of the victims during the assault.
