Motif Technologies has been selected to join the elite team for the Ministry of Science and ICT's 'National AI' project, which focuses on developing advanced artificial intelligence solutions through a consortium. The selection is part of an initiative aimed at fostering national capabilities in AI, following assessments of the consortium's AI model development capabilities and their competitive potential against existing teams.

The government previously initiated the 'Independent Foundation Model' (Independental Model) project, providing support in the form of crucial resources like GPUs to five elite teams. After a first-round evaluation where certain teams were eliminated, an additional call for applications was made to include one more team, resulting in the inclusion of Motif Technologies and its consortium members, which include a range of academic institutions and companies.

The project aims to develop cutting-edge models, including large language models and vision-language models, with significant technological objectives outlined by the newly formed consortium. The government plans to ensure the same development timeline for Motif Technologies as the existing teams, with further evaluations scheduled in August to assess the progress and capabilities of the selected groups.
