Planetarium resumes public visits in Belém; find out the days and hours of operation
The Pará Science and Planetarium Center in Belém is resuming public visits starting Saturday, with specific hours and ticket pricing.
The Pará Science and Planetarium Center (CCPPA) in Belém is set to resume its public visitations starting from Saturday, with the hours being from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Ticket prices are R$ 10 for full admission and R$ 5 for half admission, with children under 6 years and those eligible for legal exemptions allowed free entry. Teachers and students also benefit from reduced ticket prices with proper validation.
Visitors can enjoy free entry on Wednesdays from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, alongside the paid visits on Saturdays during the same hours. José Roberto Silva, the director of the CCPPA, indicated that this revival follows a period of strategic planning and training for interns working at the center. The planetarium has seen significant visitor engagement, reaching a record of over 116,887 attendees in 2025, marking the highest annual turnout since its inauguration in 1999.
Since its opening, the CCPPA has welcomed over 1.1 million visitors, highlighting its importance as a cultural and educational facility in the region. The resumed visitations reflect the center's commitment to enriching public scientific education and offering engaging experiences for the community. The renewed schedule not only emphasizes accessibility among children's educational needs but also aligns with the planetarium's overarching goal of fostering a love for science and astronomy among its attendees.
