Government of AP delivers 21 boxes of the Popular Market in Jardim Açucena; see list of beneficiaries
The state government of Amapá has inaugurated 21 market boxes in Jardim Açucena to benefit local families and businesses.
The Amapá state government has delivered and inaugurated 21 boxes at the Popular Market in Jardim Açucena, a community project celebrating the eighth anniversary of the housing complex. These new market spaces feature their own electricity supply, accessibility options, adapted restrooms, and administrative areas. The initiative aims to create local business opportunities and to meet the needs of over a thousand families living in the area, allowing them to access services without the need to travel outside their neighborhood.
The selection process for beneficiaries was conducted by the State Departments of Labor and Entrepreneurship (Sete) and Housing (Sehab). The market is expected to provide essential services such as stationery, massage therapy, clothing, beauty salon services, crafts, food sales, accessories, cosmetics, and thrift stores. This initiative not only facilitates local entrepreneurship but also contributes to the local economy by keeping resources within the community.
Jardim Açucena plays a crucial role as one of the primary housing developments in Amapá, specifically designed to house low-income families. Situated in a strategic area of the southern zone of Macapá, it is part of Brazil's federal housing initiative, "Minha Casa, Minha Vida," demonstrating a continued investment in community development and support for vulnerable populations.
