Bolsa Família benefit begins to be paid in Amazonas; see calendar
The Bolsa Família program has commenced payments for March to nearly 600,000 families in Amazonas, with federal investments exceeding R$ 441 million.
The Brazilian government's Bolsa Família program has started disbursing March benefits to 596,795 families across 62 municipalities in Amazonas, amounting to over R$ 441 million in total investments. Each family is expected to receive an average payment of R$ 740.51, with payments continuing through the end of the month based on the Social Identification Number (NIS) final digits.
Additionally, targeting early childhood support, 325,500 children aged six and under are beneficiaries of the Benefício Primeira Infância, which provides an additional R$ 150 per child, amounting to R$ 47.6 million in investment. Specific municipalities affected by emergencies, such as flooding and drought, were prioritized for unified payments, which were processed on March 18.
Extra payments are also designated for particular demographics, including R$ 50 for 29,000 pregnant women, 13,500 breastfeeding women, and 559,800 children and adolescents aged 7 to 18. These initiatives reflect the Brazilian government's commitment to supporting vulnerable populations amid economic and environmental challenges.
