Decree reinstates ICMS discount for products in Amapá
The São Paulo government has reinstated tax incentives for goods sent to Free Trade Areas like Amapá, which is expected to lower prices and enhance local business competitiveness.
The São Paulo government has issued a decree that reinstates tax incentives for goods shipped to Free Trade Areas (ALCs), including Amapá. This decision is crucial as it is expected to reduce prices and improve the competitiveness of local businesses that have been struggling with rising costs following the suspension of this benefit. The reinstatement of a 7% discount on the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) had been previously suspended in January 2025 alongside similar cuts for other states such as Acre, Amazonas, Rondônia, and Roraima, which could mean up to a 20% increase in the final prices of products.
