A man with a registered firearms license was arrested by the Federal Police in Amapá while traveling in a vehicle containing R$ 200,000 in cash. Authorities reported that he also had a .40 caliber pistol, which he was carrying in violation of regulations governing firearm ownership and possession for licensed firearm holders. The man’s registration permitted only the possession of firearms under specific circumstances, and any carry license required explicit authorization from the police.
