Civil Police seizes R$ 58,000 in cash and weapons in operation against disarmament

In São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, the Civil Police carried out a significant operation dubbed "Cinturão de Fogo," aimed at combating illegal arms trade and disarmament. On the 9th of this month, officers executed two search and seizure warrants as part of the operation, showcasing a coordinated effort between the Divisão Especializada de Investigações Criminais (Deic) and the Tactical Force of the Military Police.
During the operation, authorities uncovered R$ 58,000 in cash, along with a range of weapons and ammunition. The seizure included handguns, various caliber cartridges, gunpowder, fired cartridges, a holster, an air rifle, and a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) containing video evidence. This substantial cache highlights the ongoing challenges Brazil faces regarding illegal arms circulation and the government's initiative to dismantle such networks.
