28th Tallinn Ski Marathon Will Take Place in Full Length

The 28th Tallinn Ski Marathon is confirmed to take place in full length with ideal track conditions on February 21st.

The 28th Tallinn Ski Marathon will be held this Saturday, February 21st, in Kõrvemaa, with organizers confirming that the track conditions are near ideal. Participants will race on the planned 38 km and 19 km courses. According to the chief organizer Raivar Vaher, the conditions are so good that a classic track has been established—a unique feature not always present in freestyle marathons. This winter has seen abundant snowfall, making it an excellent opportunity for skiers to come out with high-quality equipment.

Weather predictions indicate mild winter conditions for the marathon day, with temperatures expected to range from -2 to -4 degrees Celsius and no forecasts for thaws. Vaher reassured that the marathon will proceed smoothly under these conditions. In a novel addition to this year’s program, a night ski event called the Kõrvemaa Öösõit will take place the day before the main events, allowing participants to enjoy skiing in the glow of headlamps on 19 km and 3 km routes.

As the marathon approaches, the enthusiasm among the local skiing community is palpable, reflecting the importance of this event on Estonia's winter sports calendar. The combination of excellent weather, well-prepared tracks, and community support are likely to enhance the experience for all participants, reinforcing the stature of the Tallinn Ski Marathon as a premier sporting occasion in Estonia.
