ECU 911, through its coordination in Esmeraldas and in collaboration with first-response institutions, managed a total of 1,309 emergencies across the province's seven cantons during the recent Carnival holiday period from February 14 to 17. According to official reports, the highest incidence was in citizen safety, accounting for 1,032 emergencies, which makes up 78.8% of the overall total. Other significant incidents included those related to health management, traffic and mobility, and military services.

The cantons with the highest number of reported incidents were Esmeraldas with 637 emergencies, Atacames with 227, and Quinindé with 211. Additional reports highlighted the need for police patrols in requested sectors, with 267 cases logged, and several incidents involving violations, such as 158 related to drinking in public places and 129 cases requiring police searches. This influx of emergency calls during a festive period reflects both the challenges and the demands on emergency services in maintaining public safety.
