Greece is witnessing a decline in the number of confirmed cases of sheep pox as reported by the National Scientific Committee for the Management and Control of Sheep Pox. From August 2024 to February 15, 2026, there have been a total of 2,105 confirmed cases and 479,821 sheep fatalities due to the disease, affecting 2,610 farms nationwide. The recent data indicates that from February 9 to 15, 2026, 11 new cases were identified in various regions including Aetolia-Acarnania, Achaea, Ilia, Kavala, Xanthi, Rodopi, and Serres.
