5 Billion Won Earned Through Car Repairs and Painting... 'Sister, Use It for Sick People'

A man with terminal cancer left behind a touching plea to donate all his savings of over 5 billion won to help others in need before passing away.

In a heartwarming act of generosity, Yun In-soo, who passed away from terminal cancer, expressed his final wish to donate his life savings of over 5 billion won to assist those suffering from illness. His last heartfelt request was made during a touching farewell to his sister, who was deeply moved by his selflessness. Following his wishes, the family dedicated the funds to μΆ©λΆλŒ€λ³‘μ› (Chungbuk National University Hospital), despite having no prior connection to the hospital.

Yun In-soo was the youngest of five siblings and had a modest upbringing, working hard in various car repair shops before eventually opening his own business. After facing a career change due to the advent of electronic vehicle maintenance, he transitioned to the painting industry, maintaining a stable life until a shocking stage IV stomach cancer diagnosis in April 2024 disrupted his world. Over the course of 190 days, he battled the disease, frequently moving between Seoul and μ²μ£Ό (Cheongju) for treatment, fighting bravely but eventually succumbing to the illness on November 18th of last year.

Yun's sister, Yun Hyun-ja, reflected on their final months together, recalling how selflessly her brother cared for others despite his own struggle. His commitment to helping others and the profound love he had for his family shone through in his final wishes, marking his life and death with compassion and enduring familial bonds. This poignant story serves as a reminder of the impact one person can have, even in their last moments, and highlights the importance of altruism in healthcare and community support.
