The Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has officially classified the construction of Poseidonos Street as a project of national importance, initiated by Minister Christos Dimas and Deputy Minister Nikos Tachiaos. This designation signifies that the project is a priority and urgent, particularly in light of the upcoming expansion of the Thessaloniki Metro towards Kalamaria.

Poseidonos Street serves a critical role in the wider infrastructure plan as it is situated adjacent to four of the five stations along the new Metro line, thereby enhancing public transportation in the region.
