In a tragic incident in the Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh, a Duster car lost control and overturned into a canal, leading to the death of three individuals who were returning from a wedding. The accident occurred near Turkpur, adjacent to the Bundelkhand Expressway, when the three occupants of the car were returning to their home in Bharatna, Etawah after attending a wedding in Dibiya Pur. Local villagers, noticing the car submerged in water with its wheels up, alerted the police about the incident. Upon receiving the distress call, a rescue operation was launched by the police and the fire brigade, with assistance from local residents. Despite their efforts to rescue the passengers, it was too late, as a woman and two men were declared dead at the scene. The local District Magistrate Indramani Tripathi and the Additional Superintendent of Police arrived promptly at the scene with a heavy police presence to manage the situation. They oversaw the operation to retrieve the car from the water using a crane, but unfortunately, the occupants were found deceased inside. This unfortunate turn of events turned what should have been a joyous wedding celebration into a scene of mourning, expressing the community's shock and grief over the loss of life. The authorities have been active in providing support to the victims' families during this distressing time, emphasizing the need for safety measures on highways to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
