Greece for winter? Why not? More than 50 percent more flights from Poland will go there
Polish tourists are increasingly choosing Greece as a winter and early spring destination, with a remarkable increase in flight capacity to the country.
Greece is successfully attracting tourists even after the traditional summer season, with significant increases in flight capacity noted for the upcoming winter months. According to data from the Greek Travel Pages, sourced from the INSET research institute of the Greek Federation of Tourism SETE, the number of flight seats available to Greece will rise by 9.8 percent year-on-year from January to March, totaling 3.58 million seats. This highlights Greece's growing appeal as a year-round destination.
Among the various markets, Poland stands out due to its impressive growth in tourist flights to Greece. Data from AirData reveals that the number of available seats on Poland-Greece routes will increase by an astounding 51.6 percent, from 84,900 to 128,700 seats. This represents the largest increase among all analyzed markets and signals a notable rise in interest among Polish tourists for visiting Greece during the winter and early spring months.
In contrast, other key markets are seeing more modest increases: Germany is set to experience a growth of 5.6 percent, Italy 6.8 percent, and the UK 5.3 percent. Notably, countries like Spain and France are also showing strong growth, which substantiates the broader trend of increased European interest in Greece as a viable winter vacation spot. Overall, the data implies that Greece is solidifying its status as an attractive year-round tourist destination, particularly for travelers from Poland.
