Roraima more than triples cattle exports in 2025
Roraima has significantly increased its cattle exports in 2025, selling 70,931 heads of cattle to other states, mainly to Amazonas.
In 2025, Roraima has seen a dramatic increase in its cattle exports, with the total reaching 70,931 heads, a remarkable increase of 231.9% compared to 2024 when only 21,367 heads were sold. This substantial surge is attributed to several factors, including the genetic quality of Roraima's livestock and favorable market prices. The primary destination for these cattle has been Amazonas, which purchased 62,188 heads, accounting for 87.7% of the total exports, indicating a strong demand from the neighboring state.
Marcelo Parisi, the president of Roraima's Agricultural Defense Agency (Aderr), highlighted that the quality of the cattle as well as competitive prices have driven interest from buyers in Amazonas. The report underscores not only the growth in exports but also diversifies the purposes for which the cattle are intended, including slaughter, fattening, sport, exhibitions, and rearing. This expansion reveals the strengthening position of Roraima in the regional livestock market, marking a turnaround from previous years.
The report also mentions the emerging market of Rondônia, which had not imported cattle from Roraima in 2024 but acquired 3,867 heads in 2025, showcasing Roraima's potential to penetrate new markets. Additionally, there was an increase in exports to other states such as Goiás and Mato Grosso, further highlighting the overall growth of Roraima's livestock sector in the national market.
