STT: Bad news for 15,000 customers of Asko and Sotka

Over 15,000 customers who made payments for products from Asko and Sotka are facing delivery issues due to the bankruptcy of their parent company, Indoor Group.

The article discusses the ongoing issues faced by over 15,000 customers of Finnish home goods retailers Asko and Sotka, who have not received products they paid for partially or in full. This situation arises in the aftermath of the bankruptcy of Indoor Group, which owns these brands. A representative from Eversheds Law Firm, Tuomas Penttilä, stated that the primary focus at this time is to sell off all assets belonging to Asko and Sotka in order to settle debts and manage the bankruptcy proceedings effectively.

Currently, while approximately 95% of the Asko and Sotka stores are operating under normal hours, there are delays in opening some stores in smaller towns due to a lack of security services. The reopening of these stores is being managed carefully to ensure both employee safety and proper handling of the ongoing bankruptcy situation. Although efforts are being made to ensure that the stores can reopen safely, customers are still left in a precarious position without their orders.
