The Brazilian Court of Accounts (TCU) has flagged several irregularities in the R$ 235 million extension project for Avenida Litorânea, which is set to connect São Luís to the municipality of São José de Ribamar on the Greater Island. The review revealed ten major irregularities, eight of which are classified as serious but do not halt the progress of the project, while the remaining two are categorized as mere flaws or improprieties. This project is being financed through federal resources from the New PAC initiative, indicating a significant investment in infrastructure.
