Traffic in the region of Litorânea and Beira-Mar avenues is altered during Carnival; see how it is

Traffic adjustments will affect the Litorânea and Beira-Mar avenues in São Luís during Carnival, with various blockades and detours from February 14 to 18.

The Municipal Traffic and Transport Secretariat (SMTT) of São Luís has initiated a series of traffic interventions in preparation for the Carnival period. These changes will impact the areas around the Litorânea and Beira-Mar avenues, with modifications running from Saturday, February 14 until Ash Wednesday, February 18. Starting at 3 PM each day, the SMTT advises drivers to plan alternative routes to mitigate disruptions during this festive time.

Key alterations include total traffic blockages on the Beira-Mar avenue from the Praia Grande Terminal to the Mercado do Peixe in both directions, as well as dedicated access points for buses entering and leaving the Praia Grande Integration Terminal. Additionally, the Litorânea avenue will see all access ways and its full length closed to traffic in both directions during the same period.

These traffic adjustments are intended to facilitate smoother mobility and enhance safety for both revelers and local residents throughout the Carnival festivities. As large crowds are expected to gather in these popular areas, proper communication and planning are essential for maintaining order and minimizing disruptions in traffic flow during this peak event season.
