A woman tragically died and her sister was injured when their vehicle lost control and fell into a pond in Ceará, Brazil.
A tragic accident occurred in Arneiroz, Ceará, where a driver lost control of the vehicle, plummeting into a pond along the CE-277 road. The crash resulted in the death of a 32-year-old passenger, Débora Almeida Filho, while her 34-year-old sister, Izabel Cristina de Lima, who was also in the vehicle, managed to escape and was subsequently rescued.
According to military police reports, the incident took place in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 18, when authorities were alerted around 6 a.m. and dispatched to the scene. Witnesses indicated that three individuals were in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and sadly, Débora did not survive the ordeal as she drowned after the car submerged in the pond.
The police are still searching for the driver, who has not been located since the incident. The situation underscores the dangers associated with driving in precarious conditions and raises concerns about road safety in the region, especially on the CE-277 highway where the accident occurred.
