In Apodi, located in the Oeste region of Rio Grande do Norte, a severe weather incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, the 17th, when strong winds ripped tiles from the roof of a house. The flying debris impacted three local homes and a parked car, leading to minor injuries for a child present at one of the affected residences. Reports indicated that the winds were accompanied by a brief rain shower, which increased the severity of the situation.

The incident took place on Nossa Senhora da Conceição Street in the Malvinas neighborhood, where the local Civil Defense confirmed that the high winds were recorded between 7:30 PM and 8:40 PM. It was noted that the force of the wind not only damaged the original house but also resulted in tiles landing on the neighbor's roof. Moreover, two more houses, situated on the street behind, were affected, and a vehicle parked nearby suffered a broken windshield due to the falling debris.

At the time of the occurrence, approximately eight individuals were in the adjoining house, which experienced the most significant impact. Fortunately, everyone remained unharmed despite the damaged tiles and broken wooden beams. The home was particularly crowded as it had visitors who had come to enjoy the Carnival celebrations in Apodi, leaving them shaken but safe following the event.
