Increased traffic at the airport in Poznań. "Greater Poland residents want to fly far"

Poznań Airport recorded a record 4.1 million passengers in 2025, with January 2026 seeing an 8% increase in traffic compared to January 2025.

In 2025, Poznań Airport achieved a record result of over 4.1 million passengers served, highlighting a growing trend in air travel among local residents. The airport's spokesperson, Marcin Wesołek, reported that in January 2026, the number of passengers who started or ended their journey at Ławica reached 217,331, marking an 8% increase from the same month in 2025.

The uptick in passenger numbers can be attributed to the cold winter in Poland and a rich offering of flights to warmer countries, which particularly boosted charter flight traffic. In January alone, nearly 42,000 passengers utilized charter services, representing a 16% increase from the previous year. Such increased demand signals a shift in travel patterns among residents, who are increasingly seeking international destinations during the winter season.

Additionally, travelers from Poznań now have access to flights to popular tourist destinations such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar, primarily through low-cost carriers. This expansion of flight options not only enhances travel accessibility for local residents but also emphasizes the importance of Poznań Airport as a growing hub in the region's aviation market.
