Galaxy S26 to Launch Next Week ... Will the Price Exceed 2 Million Won

Samsung Electronics is set to unveil the Galaxy S26 series on the 25th, with expectations of rising prices due to global chip inflation.

Samsung Electronics is scheduled to launch the Galaxy S26 series on the 25th of this month in San Francisco during the 'Galaxy Unpacked' event. This series will feature three models: the standard S26, the S26 Plus, and the high-end S26 Ultra. Notably, the company will reintroduce its proprietary Exynos 2600 application processor after three years, after temporarily switching to Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips due to heat issues with the previous Exynos 2200 model. The S26 aims to showcase Samsung's technological recovery and reinvigorate its flagship lineup.

The Galaxy S26 series will heavily emphasize artificial intelligence (AI) features. Samsung has been promoting this focus through social media teasers, highlighting capabilities such as AI-powered photo and video editing, real-time translation, and personalized assistant functions. These advancements aim to enhance user experiences and reflect a growing trend in smartphone capabilities as AI continues to evolve and become integrated into everyday technology. The Ultra model will reportedly feature a large 6.9-inch display, while the introduction of the Exynos 2600 aims to reaffirm Samsung’s commitment to in-house semiconductor technology despite the challenges posed by rising semiconductor prices.

As Samsung prepares to launch its latest flagship, industry analysts are contemplating whether the pricing will exceed 2 million won amid the ongoing trend of chip inflation. This scenario denotes increased production costs, which could transition to higher retail prices for consumers. With competitors like Apple's iPhone air and other high-end smartphones in the market, the success of the Galaxy S26 series will depend on how effectively Samsung can balance innovation with affordability for the consumer.
