Norstat: Support percentages for parties did not change significantly in a week
Support percentages for Estonian parties showed no significant changes over the past week, according to a recent survey by Norstat.
Recent polling data collected by the research firm Norstat indicates that the support percentages for Estonian political parties have not seen any significant changes in the last week. The primary party, Isamaa, leads with 27.4% of support from eligible voters, followed by the Centre Party at 20.6% and the Reform Party at 14.3%. This stability in support reflects the current political landscape in Estonia, where party allegiance appears to be consolidated among voters.
In the following ranks, the Social Democratic Party holds 13.3% of support, while EKRE is at 12.6%. The Right-Wingers have garnered 5.9%, and Estonia 200 trails at 2%. The data indicates that coalition parties enjoy a collective support of 16.3%, whereas opposition parties attract a significantly larger majority with 73.9% of respondents favoring them. This disparity demonstrates the political dynamics at play, particularly as opposition parties appear to resonate strongly with the electorate.
Furthermore, Norstat routinely assesses public opinion not only about party preference but also regarding the performance of the government and the Prime Minister. Recent results show that 27% of respondents believe that the government is performing very well or fairly well, while a staggering 68% express dissatisfaction, feeling that the government is doing poorly. This insight into public sentiment towards government efficacy highlights the challenges facing the Estonian government as they navigate public expectations and political pressures.
