Snow may fall in some parts of Estonia on Wednesday
Snow is expected in some parts of Estonia on Wednesday, accompanied by varying weather patterns throughout the day.
On the upcoming Wednesday, Estonia is set to experience snowfall in various regions, influenced by a high-pressure area moving towards Lake Peipus. The weather will start with clear skies and no precipitation during the night, but as the day progresses, a low-pressure system from the south will bring snowfall, starting around noon on the islands and gradually moving to the western mainland. Night temperatures will remain quite low, ranging between minus 16 to 23 degrees Celsius, with somewhat milder conditions on the islands and coast.
As the morning unfolds, the weather will remain partly cloudy, particularly on the islands and western coast, yet still without significant precipitation. Winds will be weak, with occasional moderate gusts from the southeast and east. The cold temperatures are expected to persist in the range of 6 to 11 degrees Celsius during the day. Visibility issues may arise with the potential formation of fog, especially on the islands.
By the afternoon, cloud cover will increase from the southwest, leading to snow showers moving into the western parts of the mainland. Snowflurries are anticipated with some blowing snow in the mix. The southeastern winds might bring gusts up to 14 m/s near the coast. The overall weather for Thursday will follow with possible continued snowfall, indicating a shift in the weather patterns as winter approaches more firmly in Estonia.
