A low-pressure system that has influenced the weather since Monday is receding towards Russia, allowing a cold high-pressure area to move in across the country overnight. However, this system will be followed by a warm and moist air mass from the north, which will lead to additional slippery conditions on the roads as this warm air encounters the cold ground.

The night before will bring cloudy skies with some clearing and potential light snow or sleet in eastern regions, along with localized fog. Winds will be from the northwest and north at 2-8 m/s, while temperatures are expected to drop to between 0 and -4 degrees Celsius, leading to icy conditions on wet road surfaces. The morning will see a continuation of cloudy conditions with occasional breaks and mostly dry weather, although slippery roads will remain a concern.

As the day progresses, the atmosphere will largely remain overcast, and around midday, a band of precipitation will reach the islands and spread towards the east. This will bring sleet and rain, with the possibility of snow initially on the mainland. There is a risk of freezing rain and icy conditions on surfaces. Winds will shift to the southwest and south and will strengthen, creating further challenges for driving and outdoor activities throughout the day.
