The Anambra State Police Command has reported the neutralization of a 21-year-old suspect named Chukwuka Solomon, who was allegedly involved in armed robbery and cult activities. The operation, carried out by the Special Anti-Cultism Squad in the early hours of February 16, 2026, occurred in the Amikwo community of Awka South Local Government Area.

During the operation, Solomon reportedly attempted to escape, leading police to engage him at his hideout where they recovered a pump-action gun, two locally-made pistols, and various rounds of ammunition. SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command’s Spokesman, detailed the actions taken by the police, emphasizing the effort to combat the rise of violent crime associated with cult activities in the region.
