The warning fine for the pizza company was lifted – the authority gave a clean bill to the company from Härmä
A food company in Härmä, Finland, has avoided a €10,000 warning fine after an inspection found that they had resolved maintenance issues previously noted by health authorities.
Härmä Food, a subsidiary of Riitan Herkku located in Alahärmä, Finland, has successfully avoided a €10,000 warning fine imposed by the Seinäjoki environmental health agency due to maintenance deficiencies noted in December. Following a recent re-inspection by health authorities, it was determined that the company had addressed the issues sufficiently, particularly regarding their maintenance plan.
Suvi Ranta, the hygienist veterinarian from the city of Seinäjoki, confirmed that the company had updated its maintenance plan and provided a satisfactory schedule for the necessary actions. While the company had received several corrective notices, the key issue leading to the warning fine was in the compliance with the maintenance planning. The agency had originally set a fine of €1,000 but increased it tenfold when it found that the required corrections were not being fully implemented.
The situation emphasizes the importance of compliance in food safety regulations and the need for ongoing inspections to ensure that companies like Härmä Food maintain appropriate standards. With the current review showing improvements, the company remains under observation to ensure continued adherence to health regulations, which is crucial for maintaining public health and safety in the region.
