Greek supermarkets have the lowest prices for a typical shopping basket compared to several European countries, including France, England, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Romania, and Bulgaria.
Recent findings from the Institute of Retail Research on Consumer Goods (IELKA) indicate that Greek supermarkets continue to offer the lowest prices for a typical household shopping basket when compared to major European countries. The research involved a comprehensive price comparison study that analyzed data from over 48 supermarket chains across eight European nations. This analysis revealed that despite rising costs on a global scale, Greece remains competitive in terms of grocery affordability, particularly in 40 different product categories.
